Cosmonostro continue to demonstrate they are as much at home in the headphones as on the dancefloor, with a 4-track EP of club-ready rollers courtesy of Germany’s B-Ju.
‘Merianplatz’ is a glitzy two-step workout, with a mean percussion loop that drives wavy arpeggiated pads and soul-drenched synths, whilst ‘Got It From Fritz’ is a real builder, working its way from a cavernous half-time swell to Amen Break madness, all accompanied by immaculate vocal chops and more of those glistening synthesizers. ‘All Faced’ brings thing to a juked-out climax, proving B-Ju’s finesse for crafting dancefloor dynamite. Also included on the release is a remix of the EP’s title track by Parisian beatsmith Jenovah, who strips the original back to a much more cosmic soundscape, before dropping into a BAD garage beat & working in just the right elements of B-Ju’s production, to strike a perfect balance between a futuristic & a classic sound.

Using the rework's opening moments to briefly revisit the lush chords and sugary melodies of the original, Jenovah's production takes a quick turn just after the one-minute mark, where the French producer first begins to dismantle and then brings back together B-Ju's "Merianplatz" as a slinking club tune. -XLR8R
The original version of the title track is a bass-heavy funk joint, but thanks to Jenovah’s remix (which is available for free download at XLR8R) this gets an uplifting garage twist. I’d say this one is club-certified! -Okayfuture
